The Senses Explored.

May - June 2014

A series of Inspire Gatherings chaired by an invited specialist, delivered by postgraduate students from a range of disciplines and attended by students, staff and members of the local community, to explore the broad theme of the human senses. This series of four free to access public talks was concieved and curated by Harriet Gifford, Amie Rai and Angela MacArthur. As three postgraduate students on the MA Sound and Image course, sight and hearing become the starting point for investigation into the senses, however, the theme will be broadened out to encompass a wider understanding and discovery of what we mean by senses. Of particular interest to the group are perspectives about as understood by postgraduate students from a range of disciples such as the arts, neuroscience, psychology and philosophy.
